It’s time again for the end of the year performances of the pre-education. This year I’ve created 3 pieces for my students.
The first year students of the ArtEZ Vooropleiding Dans Venlo dance ‘Clubsandwich’, on 8 April in Theater de Maaspoort in Venlo.
Then, 12, 13, 14 April the 3rd year students of the ArtEZ Vooropleiding Dans Arnhem dance ‘ < respons > ‘ in Theatre 1, ArtEZ School of Dance.
And 13, 14, 15 April the 1st year students of the Vooropleiding Musical in Venlo dance ‘Never wake a sleeping Lion’ in Theater de Garage in Venlo.
Come and see how these young dancers and performers grow!
Lately I’m starting up with some new and old projects. But in the meantime, next to teaching, I’m improvising a lot. Mainly with the MuDaChiefs, and helping them in the background. MuDaChiefs is an improvisation performance platform running since 2016 with the aim to give interdisciplinary improvisation performance a contemporary form and to give it new inputs and energy. We organize monthly R&D sessions for professional artists from a variety of disciplines, dance, music, theater, spoken word, etc… who have different backgrounds, come from different styles, young and old, experienced and not yet. The main drives are the encounter, the exchange and the curiosity about each other. Also, the MuDaChiefs perform regularly in the Brabant region in festivals, on surprising locations and in different contexts. This encourages the interdisciplinary exchange, expands networks and creates a sustainable open source community that invests in research, innovation and deepening of alternative forms of presentation. The MuDaChiefs is an initiative of DansBrabant, drawn and curated by Jack Gallagher (Bodies Anonymous) and Jacqueline Hamelink (Sounding Bodies) and open for anyone to join and to contribute.
At the moment all my attention is going to the teaching and choreographing in the pre-education in Venlo and Arnhem. We had a busy period with performances and I’m very proud of my students, for whom I created several choreographies in the past year.
At the same time I’m digesting everything that happened and establishing a new direction for my future work.
The website and facebook page of my project The Invisible Dancer is launched! In November we’ll start working on the project again, this time in Tugela 85 in Amsterdam Oost.
In The Invisible Dancer I’m making a dance solo that must be perceived with eyes closed. The piece is designed the be listened to rather than looked at. During the working process I invite visually impaired people to the studio to take part in the artistic process, and join me as researchers of the sound-dance.

How would I describe myself at the moment? Well, as an interactive interdisciplinary conceptual sensorial systemic visionary integrative movement expressionist
